Settling in Karlstad
It's unreal to me that it has been a month since I moved to Sweden. Apart from accidentally buying horse radish cream cheese & walking into the men's locker room after a power step class, I would say I'm holding my own pretty well in the EU! When packing my bags to Sweden, the thoughts that crossed my mind were Scandinavia's beautiful country side, the classes I would be attending & the people I would miss in Pocatello--or as of now the Mexican food (El Herradero I'm coming for you in 4 months)! Not once did I think I would ever meet so many amazing human beings. Everyone here has a different story & passion. Exchange students from around the world all came to Karlstad to get one step closer to achieving their dreams.
It's easy to get caught up in the fear of wondering if you're good enough to do what you love. But once my data & distraction of notifications disappeared my monotonous worries from home also faded away. Students, Lovers & Creators everywhere are doing the best they can. Everyone I have come in contact with in Europe has built up my passions, shared with me insight & taken actual interest in my life stories. It really moved me to meet people that weren't prideful about what they love & to see people that are genuinely excited about others joy. So as I walk the cobble streets of little Karlstad, I hope I can carry this new attitude with me & bring out more joy!
In a Nutshell: Here are few photos capturing my no shame for dessert & featuring some of my new exchange pals! I'm looking forward to the next few months ahead!
