Bergen

My semester abroad is dwindling away. I am moving out of my apartment this week & blogging when clearly I should be writing essays-- yikes is right. Luckily, Jess decided that she would try a dose of jet-lag & came to visit me for a little sister-sister vacation. Our first destination was the quaint little boat town Bergen, Norway. Our travels...not so quaint. Our train departed from Oslo at 3:43pm. Heaving from running down an UP escalator at 3:45pm I saw Jess for the first time, just as random Norwegians helped toss our luggage & us onto the train. (BLESS THEM!) Things stayed pretty calm for a while until we arrived to our airbnb which was located directly above a night club! We were literally vibrating from the bass all night! No complaints though, we were directly in the middle of town & after these series of events we were ready to take on anything. (Once fueled on fish & chips.)

Two of our favorite activities on the trip included our hike up Floien Mountain & a boat ride across the harbor. The view at the top of the peak took the breath right out of you-- quite literally. Norway knows no jokes about nature. It was an intense vertical to get to the top!  It's been such a pleasure to witness the Scandinavian lifestyle. Everything seems so simple... well except the views.

In a Nutshell: 7 hour train ride with dodgy wifi-- totally worth it to make it to Bergen. I just die imagining what it would be like to actually live here.
