Tivoli
Probably for the rest of forever when I hear any phrase with the words "amusement park," goose bumps will appear up & down my arms. Tivoli is kind of like Disneyland's grandpa, in a sense. It's where Walt found his inspiration for creating the Disney Parks. I can see why, it took no time to fall in love with the quaint restaurants & flower gardens that coexisted with the towering virtual reality roller coasters.
With tangled up hair & cotton candy fingers, Jess & I screamed as we soared over Copenhagen ride after ride. The ride operator made fun of us as we kept begging to go around the ferris wheel one more time. Reliving some of our younger theme park vibes was just what we needed. I like the idea of amusement parks because it locks everything out. Once you get your hand stamped & wristband in place, you're in. It's as if everything in life is put on pause just so you can eat a runny funnel cake & check yourself out in one of those skinny fun house mirrors. (Sometimes that's exactly what you need.) Even now I still feel on top of the world when I'm being whisked through the air, even though it's just mechanical rides & strangers surrounding me. I'm not quite sure how I get tricked, but I love keeping some of those childlike essences alive. I won't really ever get it, but I think that's why I like it. The spirit of Tivoli is obviously something we should try to carry with us, even Walt thinks so.
In a Nutshell: I'm all about that vertigo. Shout out to the ride operator that took pics of Jess & I from his little operating booth, he is the real mvp!
